A Call of Duty: Warzone content creator shared an unexpected, one-year-anniversary package filled with hints about the future of Verdansk.

On March 10th a few special anniversary packages were sent out to prominent streamers and Call of Duty: Warzone content creators, marking Warzone’s one-year anniversary. PrestigeIsKey quickly took to Twitter to share the interesting contents of the wooden box, which included orange prisoner’s clothing with a card from the Warzone team saying, “There are no second chances after losing a battle here. The outer prison is a hostile-rich environment. You’re safer in the ghoul-ag.” Even though the hint is a bit cryptic, the tease clearly referred to the Call of Duty: Warzone Gulag as the “ghoul-ag”, which convinced many fans that zombies will be invading the prison really soon.

Some other theories suggest that Activision might be ready to introduce a new mode or some sort of event, while other fans believe that the zombies will eventually spread into the entire map of Verdansk. This theory is looking increasingly likely after zombies recently invaded the prison.

Last month’s COD: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War Season 2 release brought along the Warzone Shipwreck location and a handful of zombies that quickly filled the whole area. They may be restricted to Shipwreck and Prison for now, but nothing can really stop them from taking over the gulag, or maybe even the entire map.

Days before the one-year anniversary of Warzone rumors started to spread about the potential massive changes to the game. A variety of Call of Duty leakers, who have been known for their accuracy in the past, have mentioned a nuclear explosion that will allegedly blow up the Verdansk battle royale map.

If zombies do spread through the entire map of Verdansk, judging from Activision’s teases, then maybe they could trigger the nuclear devastation. Based on the rumors about the future massive change in the game, this zombie invasion could be a logical way to get there.

However, this is not the first time we have seen clues about a nuclear devastation. From the moment the Bunker 11 nuclear warhead was found in Call of Duty: Warzone many players have been speculating about the usage of this particular device. It should be noted all these might not really indicate the end of Verdansk, it may simply be a way to introduce a reformed version of the game.

Justifiably many fans are raising their concerns about the future of the game, and whether or not it will remain to be a standard battle royale after the addition of this prominent zombie apocalypse.
